ABC Conversations with Richard Fidler - Mary Jo McVeigh

Mary Jo McVeigh works with people affected by trauma, mostly children affected by abuse or family break-up.

Mary Jo McVeigh grew up in Belfast and experienced first hand what terrible trauma can do to a person, and their family.

In her twenty five years as a social worker and counsellor Mary Jo has seen countless examples of resilience and recovery, especially in children. She set up Cara House in Sydney where she and a small group of other social workers provide counselling to children and their carers.
